Small but mighty

We all know that architects and designers are innovative and resourceful.  Like Kelly Griffin, a Senior Associate/Architect at NBBJ.  When she needed another bathroom space, she simply converted a closet into a powder room.  Brilliant!  She used the Maluku Tan color of our Island Pebbles on the floor and walls of this space.

Regarding the new space, Kelly commented, “we love how the stone gives your feet a massage as you walk in and how the mass of stone adds to the acoustical privacy.”

We agree and we love the look of this space.  It gives a whole new definition to the term “water closet”.

Ceramic Tiles of Italy Design Competition

Be a part of the 2011 Ceramic Tiles of Italy Design Competition.  This contest celebrates the distinguished work of North American architects and designers who feature Italian ceramic tiles in their institutional, residential or commercial/hospitality spaces.

Architects and interior designers are invited to submit domestic and international new construction and renovation projects completed between January 2006 and January 2011.  A panel of design experts will judge the projects based on their creativity, functionality and aesthetic appeal.  The official criterion for the jury includes:  overall design of the project, innovative use of tile, tile design, quality of installation, degree that tile enhances the setting and the project’s sustainable attributes.

Another happy customer

These photos were sent in from a customer who recently visited our showroom to work on a bathroom remodel.  As you can see in these photos, they selected our beautiful onyx mosaics, flanked by Questech Sandgate Cast Metal liners in aspen silver.  They also used some small decorative accents from the pewter collection by Stone & Pewter Accents.
They purchased through CFM, had the framing done by Tom’s Woodworks, and had the tile installation by Yuriy Gorbunov.  Thanks to everyone involved in transforming this space into something so elegant.
